Anyone down in my part of the world at the moment? We have a delightful looking programme of baroque events this week in Arles, including a Rameau concert with two harpsichordists, followed by a new documentary about the composer. The director of the film will be present after the screening for any questions. I'm looking forward to it!

I don't believe he did, Richard...but some of his orchestral pieces from the operas such as "Les Indes Galantes" were rearranged for two harpsichords. I heard them in a church in the lovely village of Lourmarin in the Lubéron a couple of years ago with Pierre Hantai and Skip Sempé performing. The arrangements worked very well and so I'm looking forward to hearing them again. More than anything, I'm looking forward to the documentary about Rameau at the cinema afterwords.Originally posted by richardfinegold View Post

A recording of 2 harpsichords usually doesn't work for me because the tend to be jumbled into 1 mess. What works in Concert doesn't work on radio or recording studio.Originally posted by MickyD View Post
