So what’s the difference between what Levit’s doing and the 1967 performance by (my late lamented friend and sometime mentor) Richard Toop, normally cited as the first complete performance by a single pianist?
No, and I honestly don’t know if I was aware of his Vexatious achievement while he was still alive! (I’m not much of a Satie fan and there was so much other music to talk about…)
