I was lucky enough to attend this concert. I booked without any great expectation, a friend was visiting at fairly short notice and it was a question of "what is on in London that day". But serendipitously, it turned out to be an outstanding concert which I have listened to again on iplayer with no diminishment in the enjoyment. In the same way, I was able to get one of the few remaining tickets for Barenboim playing Schubert the following evening at the Festival Hall. While it would not be fair to say I did not enjoy it, it was a bit ho hum by comparison and the Wigmore Hall recital is the one that will remain longer in the memory.

I heard the first half so I do nee d to catch up on the 2nd. The playing I heard was quite extraordinary.
