Some years ago in London I heard of a rehearsal in a little hall with IH, Sargent and the LSO. A friend and I crept into a little gallery and heard a straight run through of the Sibelius concerto, which has never been bettered IMHO. I longed to speak to her but she was whisked away and I doubt that I would have had the courage anyway. An appreciative audience of two.
