I echo the hope that R3 was present, though I fear not. IIRC they did not record any of his 1990s Schubert traversal at Wigmore (I attended a couple of the concerts, at which he played a Bösendorfer) or the Beethoven cycle. Perhaps there are contractual issues.

fwiw, I found Schiff's Schubert recordings on Decca to be very dissapointing, but it would be interesting to hear if his approach has changed in the interim.

No, I didn't warm to Schiff's DECCA Schubert, either - but his ECM Beethoven cycle I found much more exciting; it would be interesting to hear how he performs Schubert these days.
