Even in the recent BBC SO/Oramo performance of the Busoni Piano Concerto? While at 2 hearings, I'm not sure that I rate the work, GO does a staggeringly good job as the soloist there. Multiple critical raves as one of the best London orchestral concerts of the year, and I don't blame them for that evaluation.

Not being especially acquainted with either GO or Scriabin, I was very interested to hear this recital from WH. It was rich fare certainly, and I was expecting to get overdosed. After a while though it was a bit like being inside Scriabin's head and boggling at the intensity of his musical expression. I am faintly surprised at some of the negative comments above. This was no mean achievement on GO's part, surely?

Well I know that a Sarabande is a slow and stately dance but the tempo deployed here was massively overdone, which meant that as far as rubato is concerned, there was no room for manuever!!
