    Uchida plays Ein Heldenleben!!

Yes, you read it here first! Or maybe second if you're a Times reader...

On the TV & Radio page today there's a photo of Mitsuko with the caption 'Mitsuko Uchida performs Beethoven and Richard Strauss (7pm)'.

At 7pm the listing says we get Beethoven Concerto No 3 and Ein Heldenleben. So she'll be playing piano continuo I presume?
I keep hitting the Escape key, but I'm still here!

Ah well ! It was a great concert, terrific Beethoven 3 and a really fine Heldenleben. Don't miss the broadcast!

Thanks Ff, I'll do my best to catch it. Presumably MU wasn't filling in for instruments that the BRSO can't afford?

A few years ago at a concert down here in the darkest SW, Craig Ogden, having done his solo stuff in the Concierto de Aranjuez in the 1st half, came back after the interval to fake a missing harp part in the Ravel Pavane.

Wonder if he got a double fee?
