Ehnes to the rescue at Liverpool.

For those who missed it, James Ehnes played the Brahms at Wed 10th Dec RLPO broadcasted concert, having performed the Walton in the afternoon at Birmingham. He treated us to a Bach sarabande as an encore. Hopefully we will hear Vilde Frang (for whom Ehnes was substituting on the day due to sickness) on Radio 3 very soon. Heroic stuff; the Birmingham matinée running order was changed to facilitate Ehnes' departure.

Andrew Manze conducts the Royal Liverpool Philharmonic in Mozart, Brahms and Beethoven.

I also find her performances very involving, but haven't heard much of Ehnes' playing.
