    Our sonata

Suffy tells me that the premiere of the piano sonata which he dedicated to the forum will take place on Monday:

22nd November at St Lawrence Centre for the Arts, South Walsham, nr Norwich

Not sure what time, but he says any forumistas in the environs are welcome.

This is excellent news - I'm nowhere near Norwich this weekend, but I hope it all goes magnificently and that a movement or two (at least) makes its way to youTube.

Congratulations - and thank you - Suffy: this is brilliant news, indeed.

All the very best for the weekend Suffy, I'm sure it will be a big success.

Look forward very much to hearing it at some point.

          Congratulations on the premiere.

How lovely that it is dedicated to FFs excellent forum.

No, he isn't. I think he said it was too difficult for him ;-) - but he is very pleased with the performer.

This is great news, that someone has taken the trouble to write a work, especially for this forum and members! :)

Well, I had to check - but that will indeed be the forum's 4th birthday

Congratulations, Suffy. Let's hope St Cecilia herself smiles down benignly upon your premiere.

Thanks for the messages of support, which is very kind. The concert on Saturday is a mixture of music by the Norfolk Composers Group of which I'm a member, and familiar composers. My 2nd Sonata is about 17 minutes long and in one movement. Its far too difficult for me, but I've been honoured to have Chris Green-Armytage playing the work, and am in his debt for all the work he's put in on the Sonata. The concert is being recorded and I'll try and upload the performance in the near future.
