Wow - this is something akin to the themed South Bank projects that have been promoted over the past few years, but rolled out on a more continuous basis, and as such, something I've been hoping to see ever since I can remember!

I shall keep tabs on their website - something to my fancy is bound to come along, sooner than later; so thanks Caliban.

Very much enjoyed the concert this evening. The theatre has a very good acoustic for chamber music - sitting right at the back, nonetheless the sound was ideally clear, as were sight lines with the musicians sitting on the stage raised about 3 feet above floor level.



The whole slightly faded atmosphere and early 20th C style of the space made it entirely appropriate for the occasion - one could almost believe it was a little theatre in the back streets of central Prague... as it seems such an unusual building to find on one of the main 'strips' of Notting Hill

Amazing history, too - Dickens, Wilde, Olivier - even Margaret Rutherford, ammy - all have trodden the boards here...

Most unusual from the frontage, looking as it does very early-1860s central London, but presumably must occupy two lots to the rear. Glad you had such an enjoyable evening, Cali - this is definitely one to keep an eye out for future events.

I'm rather cross however to have learnt about the series too late for this concert:



It would have appealed to a number of Boarders, and in particular would have been right up our dear vinteuil's street, I think. Plus Mahan Esfahani is terrific value, apparently !
