What is this visit to Bristol? They are touring all their productions there this season: http://www.wno.org.uk/venue/bristol-hippodrome. Or do you mean something else? Having somewhat modernist tastes, I've found that some of the WNO productions I've been most interested in haven't made it to the Bristol Hippodrome and I've had to go to Cardiff to catch them.

I mean there surely used to be three annual visits? That went downto one. The Spring one seems to have been restored (though I don't rate 'Chorus!' as much of an opera). And, as you say, we often don't get the really interesting ones like, most recently, Boulevard Solitude. [We often don't get the No 1 cast, either] But I shall still continue to give my £5 I think they're great and don't blame them for not being able to do more.
It isn't given us to know those rare moments when people are wide open and the lightest touch can wither or heal. A moment too late and we can never reach them any more in this world.

At least you now have two visits, and you are getting the Rossini! Liverpool are stuck at one.

Ah yes, I apologise - I have had a closer look at the website and we aren't getting the summer tour (including Pelléas) in Bristol.
