In January of this year a rather special performance of Berlioz's Grande Messe des Morts took place in Notre-Dame in Paris with more than 160 singers and 220 musicians, conducted by Dudamel. This was broadcast last night on TTN. The sound of these vast forces in the vast space is really quite something. The performance was dedicated to the memory of Claudio Abbado.
