Not at all! He's very deaf but still one of the most sensitive pianists I know.

I've just finished listening...a lovely recital and the programme made so much more enjoyable by the talks with Richard and Katrina Burnett. Well done to all!

I talked to the producer and he was thrilled with the atmosphere of the whole event (as was I!) It really felt we were listening to a special event in a special place, not just a wonderful concert.

Indeed it did, there was a wonderful sense of intimacy about the whole programme...we need more broadcasts like this one!

I visited Finchcocks several times years ago and it is a special place.

i wonder if Tony knows that collection of early keyboard instruments?

I can’t say I am surprised but it is very sad all the same. From the point of a visitor, it was a pity that they couldn’t find anyone who would take over as it is.

This is such sad news - but at least we have the legacy of some beautiful recordings made by Richard Burnett for the Amon Ra label. Quite coincidentally, I had just ordered his CD of solo piano works by John Field.

I fear for the house - hopefully it won't go to some naff billionaire who wants to install jacuzzis and the like.
