It isn't given us to know those rare moments when people are wide open and the lightest touch can wither or heal. A moment too late and we can never reach them any more in this world.

All we need now is our little ensemble to play it through :-)

I do have a teeny-weeny confession. It was played in 2001 by a massed group of county youth ensembles = 3 orchestras, 2 bands and a percussion ensemble. It was part of a medley of tunes associated with Yorkshire, titled Riding Across Yorkshire. Included were The Lass of Richmond Hill, My Girl's a Yorkshire Girl, Scarborough Fair, Heartbeat, Emmerdale, Last of the Summer Wine and All Creatures Great and Small, with all six ensembles combining for Ilkla Moor. Astute observers will have noticed a reference to The Lass of Richmond Hill on the trumpets from bar 8 to the end of the score.

Oh, I noticed as soon as I saw your opus posted, but I thought it was a "knob joke".

                  re post 52,EA.
As far off topic as is possible, sorry, but 'a2' appears at various places in the score.
                  What does that indicate ?

It often appears on woodwind and brass staves when the 1st and 2nd Vienna Philharmonic trumpets (etc) play in unison.
