It was part of a medley of tunes associated with Yorkshire, titled Riding Across Yorkshire. Included were The Lass of Richmond Hill, My Girl's a Yorkshire Girl, Scarborough Fair, Heartbeat, Emmerdale, Last of the Summer Wine and All Creatures Great and Small, with all six ensembles combining for Ilkla Moor. Astute observers will have noticed a reference to The Lass of Richmond Hill on the trumpets from bar 8 to the end of the score.
