    Opera Australia

Apparently OA have released Tamar Iveri from her contract with immediate effect.

Public angry after comments on the Georgian singer's Facebook page appeared to describe gay people at 'faecal masses'

Can't imagine why; she seems such a charming woman.

They need to protect their business, deliver their duty of care to the rest of their employees/associates (not fair to assume others can easily work alongside her, etc) and as a public-facing organisation, they need to give confidence that they are ethical. They've done the right thing.

It would be nice to know that she is going to get the help she needs in addressing her unreasonable perceptions of the world and I do hope that this does not end her career.

I cannot imagine the sheer stupidity of going into opera as a career, and then biting the hand that feeds one. Not just biting it in her case, but chewing it up and spitting it out.

Personally, as for her career, who gives a monkeys. I don't think houses and directors etc will be queuing up to sign her! And rightly so.
I've said all that I feel is necessary about this ghastly episode.

In life, one reaps that which one sows.

I suppose if it's about revenge and fighting fire with fire (referring to her as a a revolting specimen, for example), then you won't give a "monkeys"(sic).

I would hope that this ghastly episode is dealt with in a way that people learn and become bigger, better people, rather than piling on the punishment - but, if that floats your boat.
