    Sir Andrew Davis conductor
    Sarah Connolly mezzo-soprano
    Stuart Skelton tenor
    David Soar bass

Just posting this as a matter of record as it's not going out live - that playlist show The Choir is evidently more important...

For some on these boards an 'ideal' pairing (no, trio-ing) - Elgar, Gerontius and and Sir Andrew.

There's a fine performance on DVD conducted by Sir Andrew Davis, no longer available here, but still around for our North American friends, or for those who can access Region 1 DVDs.

Perhaps we've got it wrong and it's Sir ALW (conducting a rescored version he's prepared, with Sarah Brightman as the Angel of the Agony).
