Well, I am afraid Georg Gebel is a total unknown to me - but I will (just had a taster) listen to the links. Is it the Elder or Junior? Anyway, some happy listening I think.

Georg Gebel der Jüngere, Anna. Unknown to me too, until I stumbled across the music while rambling through youtube with baroque Christmas in mind.

Other music you might enjoy - Gottfried Heinrich Stölzel, Christmas Oratorio: Cantata for the first day of Christmas - http://youtu.be/nZwTfW_DSog

Both new names to me. Thank you.

I stumbled across on this. I don't think the performance is their best. It maybe the recording but it’s an interesting setting.

Is that that right llink DS? (maybe it's this - http://youtu.be/EjoAKIxlT5A ). It's on my watch/listern now, a great setting and I wish it was in higher quality.

Another new name to me: Bernard-Aymable Dupuy (1707-1789) - Noel "Au Milieu De La Nuit" - starts here http://youtu.be/cdNfVEKmmEc

It’s the same link. Not sure how it has turned into all upper case. Yes, it is the pity that the recording quality isn’t too brilliant.

            Here's another.

No subtitles but here is the synopsis

Not particularly Christmas-y but if you have time, it may be worth watching.
If anyone saw the ROH performance in 2010, I’d be very interesting to hear their views on the opera and/or this performance.
