    The Rev does the R4 magazine programme that coincides with CDReview. He used to be more famous for his partnership with Jimmy Sommerville in The Communards.

        ...because the 'controller' is terrified of promoting any sort of programme that might educate or inform. R4 still has a vestige of Reith about it.

          In the Director-General's strategy review (2010)(I think it was?) it said Radio 3's cuts would include a reduction in 'music talks'. As Radio 4 still has a pretty decent budget (about 250% more than Radio 3's), it can afford them.
          It isn't given us to know those rare moments when people are wide open and the lightest touch can wither or heal. A moment too late and we can never reach them any more in this world.

            Well, Ryanair's idea of where 'Leipzig' is doesn't necessarily agree with a map which shows where the city of Leipzig actually is.
