Thank you for contacting us regarding Radio 3's 'Early Music Show'.
I understand that you're unhappy with plans to reduce the programme from being broadcast on two to one days a week.
Although I recognise your concerns, this is part of Radio 3's rescheduling of weekend programmes. Further information about the changes as well as comments from Controller of BBC Radio 3, Roger Wright can be found at the following address:
The best of the BBC, with the latest news and sport headlines, weather, TV & radio highlights and much more from across the whole of BBC Online
Again I appreciate that this is an issue which you feel strongly about and to that end I'd like to assure you that I've registered your concerns on our audience log. This is a daily report of audience feedback that's made available to many BBC staff, including members of the BBC Executive Board, programme makers, channel controllers and other senior managers.
The audience logs are seen as important documents that can help shape decisions about future programming and content.
Thank you once again for taking the trouble to share your views with us.
Kind Regards
Richard Carey
BBC Complaints
These pages have information about how to complain to the BBC, with links to the BBC’s Complaints Framework, the BBC’s regulator Ofcom and regular reports about complaints. Watch our short film to learn more about how the BBC responds to your feedback.
NB This is sent from an outgoing account only which is not monitored. You cannot reply to this email address but if necessary please contact us via our webform quoting any case number we provided.
Better than nothing, I suppose, although its close to being a fully automated response, clearly.
They don't seem to recognise the growing "Listening to Early music on the way to the footy" market.
perhaps other more commercially aware (?!) organisations will cash in !!I will not be pushed, filed, stamped, indexed, briefed, debriefed or numbered. My life is my own.

You do realise that BBC Audience Complaints have been outsourced to a private agency - Capita - in Darlington, don't you? They aren't BBC staff, they're just trained to give standard replies.
I understand you're unhappy with ....
Although I recognise your concerns ...
I appreciate ...
BUT - I'm just a paid hack who handles the malcontents.
RAGE, RAGE AGAINST THE DYING OF THE LIGHT!It isn't given us to know those rare moments when people are wide open and the lightest touch can wither or heal. A moment too late and we can never reach them any more in this world.

I almost wish BBC would get rid of the remaining Early Music Show, Composer of the Week, CD Review, and Through the Night. Then I could give up on Radio 3 all together.

It would be be good to hear from somebody having a good experience of dealings with Capita.
one of their non executive directors has some connections with the BBC children in Need.I will not be pushed, filed, stamped, indexed, briefed, debriefed or numbered. My life is my own.

The remainder I give less than 3 years if RW remains in charge COTW + CDReview all are aimed at serious listeners tho as we have heard in past COTW can easily be 'dumbed down' by choice of composer/genre thus I can't see then lasting as 'elite' programs need be open to tweets etc - I suspect EMS will shift at first to a graveyard slot then be killed off.

We would love to know what you thought of your recent experience contacting the BBC.
Would you be interested in taking part in a short customer survey?
Audiences are at the heart of everything we do and we are always looking to improve the service we offer to our viewers and listeners. We would welcome your feedback. Our short survey is conducted by an independent agency and will take around 10 minutes to complete. If you would be interested in taking part, please access the questionnaire using our instructions below.
10 minutes.
Well if they spent 10 minutes actually listening to my complaint, I might, just might, do the 10 minute survey.
But , well, there is life to get on with.
Edit: Mind you, I am thrilled to see that "Audiences are at the heart of everything they do." Super.
Perhaps I should tell them I will not be renewing my license till the EMS is restored to its mighty 2 shows a week.Last edited by teamsaint; 24-09-13, 16:39.I will not be pushed, filed, stamped, indexed, briefed, debriefed or numbered. My life is my own.

Funny, I didn't get teamsaint's email following my recent correspondence with Capita on, er, pronunciation, but I daresay I would be screened out and put on the green ink pile.
