When will a recorded concert will be played on R3?

Not sure if this is the right section of the forum to be asking this, but I was at a concert yesterday which was recorded by Radio 3 (Monteverdi Madrigals, La Venexiana), and I'd love to hear it again and record it, but have no idea when R3 will be playing it. Is there any way of finding out short of scouring the radio times every day for the next X months? I'm not even sure if it will be played on the early music show.

Hope someone can advise and thanks in advance!

The problem is that they may not even have fixed on a date yet. You could try ringing the Radio 3 helpline: 03700 100 300 to find out whether they do know anything yet. I'll have a look round in various places where they reveal their future plans and post here if I find anything, but advance information is quite hard to come by. Not knowing which programme it will be adds a bit to the difficulty!

Nothing seems to be showing up on Radio 3 by 6 July.

It isn't given us to know those rare moments when people are wide open and the lightest touch can wither or heal. A moment too late and we can never reach them any more in this world.

Hello frank, thanks for the advice and the helpline number. I did have a look at the contact page on which there are a list of email addresses, but the problem is that each is specific to a particular show, and since I don't even know which show the concert is likely to be played on... There doesn't seem to be a generic email address for more general enquiries. You're right, they may not have decided yet when they're going to play it. The other possibiliy is that I could just download the concert if I miss it, but I'm not sure which concerts are available by podcast.

By the way, if you ever get a chance to see these guys, don't miss it. I was amazed that the hall was only half full.

How about contacting La Venexiana and ask if they have any contract details?

Incidentally, is this the festival whose director was on Breakfast on Saturday? Or it might have been Sunday. One of the callers of Your Call (called, I suspect) was Mark Deller.

[ed] Oh, and do let us know if you find out.

          Good idea! thanks doversoul.

Don't know about that, I'm not a regular R3 listener, but the artistic director of the festival is Rhian Davies.
