How I wish I had not felt constrained by financial woes to sell on the VCS3 i bought from Michael Nyman when he was temporarily in similar straits. I bet they fetch a pretty penny now.

I did a VCS3 exam as part of my degree
We had one machine with a tea towel over it making a noise and we had to get another to make the same sound without looking
          inspired !!!

yes they are worth a small fortune now BUT Robin Wood is now making them again

While I was undertaking my mainly Science, Technology and Society studies at Middlesex Ploy, I grabbed the opportunity to do an Electronic Music half-module to get my hands on the two VCS3s they then had. One was replete with keyboard, but otherwise unmodified, while the other had the oscillator synchronisation mod that I had also made on mine (at the suggestion of Laurie Scott Baker). Ah what fun I had with them.

Oh, and getting back on topic, thanks doversoul. I had in fact already scheduled both the AAM and Freiburg for iPlayer HD Sound listening, but it's as well to highlight them here.

Repeat on TTN seems to be a bit excessive lately. Thursday’s tenor duet recital was broadcast on 23 January this year, and I noticed the other day for the third time in a few months, Jonathan Swain saying in his distinct way about a violinist composer, ‘how disheartening to be called almost the best composer…’

[ed.] And I have a feeling that this Freiburg concert was on air not so long ago. Not that I mind hearing it again, but all the same it makes one wonder.

Blimey Roehre, was that a feat of memory?! Or did it ring a bell and you were ferreting in the archives? But... either way, I didn't realise they recycled chunks of TTN

You don’t need a feat of memory when the programme is as unusual as tenor duets and only after just over a month. And it isn’t chunks but in this case it is an entire programme that is repeated.

Susan Sharpe selects an outstanding concert of early tenor duets performed by Vivante.

Susan Sharpe presents a concert of early tenor duets from the 2009 Flanders Festival.

But, yes, how did you spot it Roehre?
