How I wish I had not felt constrained by financial woes to sell on the VCS3 i bought from Michael Nyman when he was temporarily in similar straits. I bet they fetch a pretty penny now.

I did a VCS3 exam as part of my degree
We had one machine with a tea towel over it making a noise and we had to get another to make the same sound without looking
inspired !!!

yes they are worth a small fortune now BUT Robin Wood is now making them again

While I was undertaking my mainly Science, Technology and Society studies at Middlesex Ploy, I grabbed the opportunity to do an Electronic Music half-module to get my hands on the two VCS3s they then had. One was replete with keyboard, but otherwise unmodified, while the other had the oscillator synchronisation mod that I had also made on mine (at the suggestion of Laurie Scott Baker). Ah what fun I had with them.

Repeat on TTN seems to be a bit excessive lately. Thursday’s tenor duet recital was broadcast on 23 January this year, and I noticed the other day for the third time in a few months, Jonathan Swain saying in his distinct way about a violinist composer, ‘how disheartening to be called almost the best composer…’

[ed.] And I have a feeling that this Freiburg concert was on air not so long ago. Not that I mind hearing it again, but all the same it makes one wonder.

You don’t need a feat of memory when the programme is as unusual as tenor duets and only after just over a month. And it isn’t chunks but in this case it is an entire programme that is repeated.
