At the Court of Frederick the Great

    Saturday
Catherine Bott in conversation with the late Gustav Leonhardt (R)
Catherine Bott in conversation with an Early music pioneer, the late Gustav Leonhardt.

    Sunday
At the Court of Frederick the Great
A keen flautist himself, Frederich II of Prussia also patronised and employed some of the finest composers of the age. In the week of the 300th anniversary of his birth, Lucie Skeaping explores the musicians of Frederick the Great's court, including music by Agricola, Quantz, CPE Bach, Fasch, Graun and Frederick himself.

[ed] Some names I have not heard of. LS sounds much more at home when she is digging up facts (and fancies) than when she is interviewing living people. This will be good.

I think it is going to be replaced by the Bott/Leonhardt interview. Presmably we will hear it at a later date.

        Re: the Bott/Leonhardt interview

I thought the programme was thoughtfully edited. Double points for everyone concerned.
