    Early Music Radio

I was introduced yesterday to this streaming 'radio' service:

Uninterrupted early music, with occasional poetry of the times... Great and wide-ranging selection of music, anything from Machaut to HIPP Beethoven, with a healthy sprinkling of shawms and psalteries and what not else.

    Beautiful sound too
"...the isle is full of noises,
Sounds and sweet airs, that give delight and hurt not.
    Sometimes a thousand twangling instruments
Will hum about mine ears, and sometime voices..."

I did a search as well, I assumed others must have got there first!! But couldn't find it...

Oh well: so good they had to plug it twice

It is actually quite good to be reminded of it! Thank you!
It isn't given us to know those rare moments when people are wide open and the lightest touch can wither or heal. A moment too late and we can never reach them any more in this world.

            Good stuff, Calibs!

Oddly, I find the lack of all announcements to make the music sound a bit ... relentless

But then I'm a TTN fan

I know what you mean about the lack of announcements. Still, good to have on in the background, as you busy yourself in the kitchen for example...

You all have the returned prodigal rubbernecker to thank for it - he told me about the station over lunch yesterday

I should have told you there was a previous thread about it.

The sound is superb, and I love that it was set up by a surveyor in Stevenage and is completely free. It's frustrating sometimes when the online playlist is 'down' and you can't find out what you heard. However, it is the perfect aural wallpaper.

Great idea, Cali, but the workplace computer doesnt seem to want to play it or download any device that will.

                  C'est la vie!

I have a couple of Internet radios/media streamers around the house. The one which is connected to my hi-fi (a Freecom MusicPal) found this station so it must be on the Frontier Silicon database.

Surely better than the 75% chat we get on some R3 programmes? Someone called Benedict Allem spent so much time stumbling over his words and umming and err-ing on Essential Classics today....ooops, I've admitted listening to it!
