re your #2, oddoneout, I must say I hear a fair amount of early music on Through the nIght, around 4 a.m. and they do sometimes start the programme around 1230 with a complete concert. Poland seems to be quite a place for it.

Yes there is, and if I'm having a bad night I get to hear it. I'm not set-up to listen at different times or online though so have to accept that I miss a lot one way and another. I still think that R3 daytime/evening offerings of earlier music could be better - relying on content being available "somewhere" is not a substitute for making it at least a small part of the regular mainstream offering as far as I'm concerned. At the moment I'd be glad of something earlier than 'late 19th century to present day', since that seems to be where they're stuck currently judging by the evening concerts!
