Nothing like a catchy acronym...especially if The Forum machinery won't let me do it in Upper Case.

OK. In today's EMS, Lucy presents:

Thirty-five years of the York Early Music International Young Artists Competition

A selection of recordings from previous prize-winners at the biennial York Early Music International Young Artists Competition stretching back to 1985. Performers include oboist Paul Goodwin, harpsichordist Nicholas Parle, soprano Mhairi Lawson and ensembles Stile Antico, Ensemble Amarillis, Consone and Sollazzo.

No mention on the website of what music we might hear. Suck it and see, I guess.

Quite a mix - songs by Haydn (1794, composed while in England). Early?

At least Lucy admitted that the Mendelssohn was "Early Romantic".

Still don't get why there is so little Telemann broadcast. It may not match the depth of Bach, but there's a great deal to enjoy.
