I wonder if the music will be just extracts from their recordings, or any specially-recorded live performances. The latter would be more interesting as I have all their recordings....."...the isle is full of noises,
Sounds and sweet airs, that give delight and hurt not.
Sometimes a thousand twangling instruments
Will hum about mine ears, and sometime voices..."

Agreed. Excellent programme. Just got round to listening in Epiff.
It includes music by Westminster Cathedral Choir (lovely piece of Mouton!) and a couple of jollies by Hesperion XX.
Stile Antico started off with four members of the same family, incidentally. One of my daughters was at Uni with one of them.
They use female altos, which is unusual in the EM fraternity..or should I say sorority?
If one had to criticise (and hey, that's what we do in the Forum) the final piece (Victoria's O Magnum Mysterium) lacked the Spanish fire that they talked a lot about. It sounded terribly Anglican...but beautifully sung, of course.Last edited by ardcarp; 12-01-20, 23:41.
