I wonder if the music will be just extracts from their recordings, or any specially-recorded live performances. The latter would be more interesting as I have all their recordings.....
"...the isle is full of noises,
Sounds and sweet airs, that give delight and hurt not.
    Sometimes a thousand twangling instruments
Will hum about mine ears, and sometime voices..."

By sheerest coincidence, just listening to (or cat-managing to...).....

Listen to unlimited or download In a Strange Land by Stile Antico in Hi-Res quality on Qobuz. Subscription from £10.83/month.

      ...and very fetching it is.....

Just listened to this on Sounds.

        One word, stunning!

This type and quality of programme is what R3 should be about.

Agreed. Excellent programme. Just got round to listening in Epiff.
It includes music by Westminster Cathedral Choir (lovely piece of Mouton!) and a couple of jollies by Hesperion XX.
Stile Antico started off with four members of the same family, incidentally. One of my daughters was at Uni with one of them.
They use female altos, which is unusual in the EM fraternity..or should I say sorority?

If one had to criticise (and hey, that's what we do in the Forum) the final piece (Victoria's O Magnum Mysterium) lacked the Spanish fire that they talked a lot about. It sounded terribly Anglican...but beautifully sung, of course.

Wonder how THEY feel about the Baker resignation etc etc at the Drome - remarks on the broadcast suggest a real admiration for all that that choir stands for.

Yes, I thought that as I listened. Can't say I know anything about "The Drome" though, except what I've gleaned from these boards.
