I was not very keen on Magdalena Kozena in this repertoire. In particular, I found her voice in Il Combattimento di Tancredi e Clorinda almost shrill which spoilt the work a bit*. Still, I very much enjoyed the instrumental works.

*[ed.] listening to it from a set of decent speakers, it doesn’t sound as uncomfortable as it did yesterday but I still prefer a tenor.
