Prom 55: Handel's Jephtha
The Proms' Handel cycle continues with the composer’s last, and perhaps greatest, oratorio. Richard Egarr conducts the Scottish Chamber Orchestra and Chorus in the devastating story of the warrior Jephtha commanded by God to sacrifice his daughter.
The Proms that include single work or a piece by ‘early’ composers are not included here. Four feature concerts without the usual blockbuster names. I think it will be good.
Please add if anything I have missed.
