    Early Music Proms 2019

    Mon 22 Jul 2019
    Cadogan Hall 1: VOCES8
From the supple plainchant melodies of Hildegard of Bingen to the sophisticated choral polyphony of Palestrina, Byrd and Lassus, Proms debut artists VOCES8 return to music’s origins to launch a sequence of lunchtime concerts spanning 800 years.
The world's greatest classical music festival - stunning performances and collaborations.

Cadogan Hall 2: A Celebration of Barbara Strozzi
Soprano Mariana Flores and Cappella Mediterranea celebrate the 400th anniversary of pioneering Venetian composer Barbara Strozzi. A selection of love songs by Strozzi and her contemporaries includes the poignant ‘Lagrime mie’ and ‘Che si può fare’.
The world's greatest classical music festival - stunning performances and collaborations.

Cadogan Hall 3: The English Concert
Kristian Bezuidenhout joins period ensemble The English Concert for a Baroque journey around Europe, featuring lively English dances by Purcell, virtuosic harpsichord music by Élisabeth Jacquet de la Guerre and chamber music by Handel and Telemann.
The world's greatest classical music festival - stunning performances and collaborations.

    Fri 30 Aug 2019
    Prom 55: Handel's Jephtha
The Proms' Handel cycle continues with the composer’s last, and perhaps greatest, oratorio. Richard Egarr conducts the Scottish Chamber Orchestra and Chorus in the devastating story of the warrior Jephtha commanded by God to sacrifice his daughter.
The world's greatest classical music festival - stunning performances and collaborations.

The Proms that include single work or a piece by ‘early’ composers are not included here. Four feature concerts without the usual blockbuster names. I think it will be good.

Please add if anything I have missed.

Thanks dovers. In my view Cadogan Hall is a much nicer venue in all sorts of ways than the Albert Hall. People should get their skates on, however - I see a few of the concerts there are already fully booked. You takes yer chances by just turning up say half an hour before proceedings, as have I - availability being dependent on bookers not turning up at the last minute.
