What a lass! By the way I like the way the stage setters used piled up news symbolically as something comfortable to be sat on. An aware audience, too!

Mpnteverdi Vespers from Innsbrook. A HIPP performance, but one which will leave you gob-smacked, as the performers move (rather rapidly) from one very high gallery to another in this magnificent Roccoco church. Fine players and singers, but (a minor niggle) only nine singers doing everything against a generous assembly of pluckers, scrapers and blowers. Mrs A and I had a most enjoyable watch and listen last night! It was quite a find.

I think the somewhat exaggerated conducting may be excused by the need to keep everything in synch across a very widely sspread ensemble.
