On the day before Bonfire Night, Hannah French explores music for fireworks, with music by Corelli, Bach, Rameau and Gluck, and Handel's celebrated Music for the Royal Fireworks.

I went to a firework display last night. Despite a foreboding weather forecast, everything went off well and it was fun. The only tune I recognised was “You take the high road, I’ll take the low road”! [accents/dialect omitted] Nuff said.

I would have thought the best music for such an occasion would be 'Fire Brigade' by The Move.

Which could bring in a complete performance of Shoster's 7th - complete with helmets
I keep hitting the Escape key, but I'm still here!

I was too busy watching a rerun of 'Cracker'.

Can we talk about Bow Gamelan somewhere else then ?

I once did the music for a firework thing at Lincoln Castle than included fire rope pictures of various local folks including a version I made of The Silver Swan for sinewave generators , melodica and ring modulator (st Hugh and swans and the like) does that count?

I never really notice the category of threads. Perhaps I’m a fall Guy!

Yes - but driving in the car, so perhaps not full attention. Good programme, though (not dissin' it).

Re: erroneous posts - does it really matter?
