This was very well presented by someone who was clearly excited by this extraordinary music, and who liked all the different performances in the extracts.

I heard this live in Kings Place a few years ago, with Claire Booth. It was, as the Guardian critic said at the time, a world class performance. They had video projections between the sections, each consisting of a still image of the performers at the end of that section. I expected it to be a bit of a gimmick, but in fact it provided a focus for emotional involvement between one section and the next, rather than just an empty gap.

      - good to hear. I do think that some visual input (other than just the band of course) can add to a performance.

I'm presuming the dates for the Couperin programmes are actually in November, rather than October as listed...

Just catching up with this before it disappears from i-player. Beautiful music and absolutely stunning delivery from all the featured artists.

Sunday's EML had more Couperin. Lovely!

Baroque music ensemble Gli Incogniti perform music by Couperin, Marais, Rebel and Rameau.
