Accademia del Piacere and Nuria Rial: EML 11 February

Elin Manahan Thomas presents Nuria Rial and Accademia del Piacere in a concert from last year's Pyrenees Festival of Early Music, centered around the music of Sebastian Duron, Master of the Royal Chapel of King Charles II (1661 – 1700) in Madrid, and one of the most influential Spanish composers of his time.

I very much enjoy Nuria Rial in the Spanish repertoire.

Spanish Baroque anyone? This was a very enjoyable concert. Nuria Rial has a lovely voice but I think there is something missing in her voice that makes you sit up. However, she is excellent in earlier songs.
