    Minim-uk

Forgive me if you've already heard about this. I hadn't, and maybe others would be interested, too. Minimum stands for Musical Instruments Interface for Museums and Collections. It's a virtual museum of historic instruments, or rather a gateway to 200 separate collections across the UK, many of which never previously accessible to the public. Definitely worth a look. It is here:

The UK’s largest online collection of historical musical instruments.
And the tune ends too soon for us all

It does indeed look fascinating...sadly at the moment I am having great difficulty managing to open any of the items on the front page. Am I alone in this?

No, you're not - clicking on any of the first page "links" leads to a very long wait for the "article" to load. It does - eventually - do so; but it's takes nearly a minute to appear.

Excellent link, my thanks too CB.

Loading nice and quickly on my laptop.

This might be a contender for the much revered Reference Library ?

And it prompts me to mention that anybody who hasn't been to the Museum of Musical Intsruments in Brussels, and finds themselves in that neck of the woods, would do themselves a big favour by popping in. It really is terrific.

( Although they are a bit over supplied with serpents, IMHO......)

And easy to get to by train.

Reputedly, none at all in any Irish museum.

It isn't given us to know those rare moments when people are wide open and the lightest touch can wither or heal. A moment too late and we can never reach them any more in this world.

Thanks for the tip, ferney, I'll be more patient next time I give it a go.
