I don’t imagine the orchestra gets to play Monteverdi all that often. It sounded as if they (the musicians) were enjoying themselves hugely. The tenor Topi Lehtipuu was splendid and the soprano and the countertenor were very good too. I thought this was an excellent programme for inviting people to have a great time at a concert.
