This is an absolute delight. There is something very special about these early sonatas; I’m not too keen on the word but there is something akin to innocence.

An interesting comment by Hannah French: Dario Castello was a major figure (to the effect) of developing instrumental canzona to the sonata form.

Hannah French presents a Tale of Two Italian Cities: Venice and Naples, through music performed by Tempesta di Mare, the Philadelphia Baroque Chamber Players, at the Frick Collection in New York City.

My previous reservations about Hannah's presentation style are withdrawn; she was just right.
