    Huelgas Ensemble: EML 5 February

    Elin Manahan Thomas presents a sequence of music for Advent from a concert given last year by the Huelgas Ensemble at St Paul's Church, Antwerp. They perform music from the manuscript J.11.9, the only source of medieval Cypriot music in existence.

      I'll be listening to this ds. Interesting provenance for "Huelgas" - normal meaning of "huelga" is a strike (in the Southern Region sense), here it means fallow land . And Elin M-T too

                Yes. This was proper early music....and I just love those Burgundian cadences.
