I heard most of this in the car towards the end of a long journey yesterday. Carmignola's virtuosity astonished me; and the repertoire opened up some windows on baroque practice. Definitely worth a catch-up listen.

Just catching up with this. The music is an absolute pleasure and the commentaries short but apt. Early Music Late is, to me, going from strength to strength. Three cheers for the production team.

Scarlatti’s keyboard sonatas played as violin sonatas. Great fun.

Carmignola is an exceptional player that I had the opportunity of seeing twice in concert; both at Dresden with the Dresden Festival Orchestra. One time it was so hot in the Albertinum that the tuning his gut strings and those of others were badly affected.
