Lots of interesting Renaissance / early Baroque (?) music in very ‘live’ sound. And quite a bit of informative talk as well.
And a solo chamber organ piece*. A treat, as we (I) rarely hear a live performance of this instrument.

This 'pop-up' event was very enjoyable. PLaying sackbuts and cornetts must be very akin to singing; and like singers, I guess they prefer the acoustics of a reverberant church (if not San Marco itself). It must have been quite scary, highly experienced though they are, to have performed live on air with nowhere to hide! And they acquitted themselves very well.
Here is some of the music played:
Adrian Willaert (with diminutions by Giovanni Bassano)
La Rose
Giovanni Gabrieli
Sonata per tre violini o simili [sakbuts being the 'simili' !]
Giovanni Gabrieli
Sacri di Giove augei sacre Fenici
Claudio Merulo
Toccata Ottava (organ solo)
Dario Castello
Sonata Quinta
Andrea Gabrieli
Passemezzo Antico
Giovanni Battista Grillo
Canzon prima a 8
...and here is the programme:
