Nothing to write a whole page review about it but this was a most enjoyable Telemann concert (the first half). Not too sure if following this with a Bach’s cantata was a very good idea. It didn’t work with me. I found more Telemann on youtube instead.

As a newcomer to Telemann, I enjoyed the concert. It contrasted the strengths of the two composers.

I could certainly see Telemann's strengths, rhythm, melodic lines, and could appreciate why the Authorities of Leipzig preferred him to Bach.

Bach's strength (or one of them) of course was great profundity in religious music. Bach's music of course was very rhythmic, but not quite as fluid as Telemann?

Oh, it wasn’t anything to do with the quality of the music of either composer. It was just that having been jollied up by Telemann’s music, I couldn’t quite reset my mind to listen to Bach’s cantata. The other way round might have worked.
