A Great Treat for Lovers of Rameau

Check up on " Rameau; Vingtieme Anniversaire des Musicians de Louvre. "

A fabulous programme, with my adored Marc Minkowski, who can't be bettered for this music.

    Superb filming, lighting, editing etc.

Female singers include, Joyce do Donato, Magdalena Kozena, Anne Sophie von Otter, even an Englishman called John Mark Ainsley & others. A fantastic lineup & choice of items by Rameau.

Sorry to be unable to feed you a precise code number in order to locate this gem with ease.

' tis a real treasure & especially for those devoted to Rameau.

Lots of fine music there to be sure. I see that Minkowski takes a quite pragmatic attitude to "baroque" instrumentation though - plenty of anachronistic chin- and shoulder-rests in the violin section!

David -G, Thanks for programme. I was wondering where was the great Fouchecourt , obviously not appearing until the second half, which is not with us ,
if it can be found at all - I shall continue looking
