Lucie Skeaping introduces highlights from a concert given by the Freiburg Baroque Orchestra and conductor Gottfried von der Goltz at the opening of the 2014 Montreal Bach Festival. Works performed include JS Bach's Violin Concerto in A minor (BWV.1041), the Concerto for Two Violins in D minor (BWV.1043) and the Concerto for Three Violins in D major (BWV.1064R).

I enjoyed it...admittedly rather in the background...but full of verve.

The Freiburgers are getting very adventurous - after the Pablo Heras-Casado Schubert 3 & 4, the Schumann Violin Concerto is due out on 23/03, with Heras-Casado and Isabel Faust, (c/w G Minor Piano Trio (Queyras-Faust-Melnikov), oddly enough...). On HM as usual.

I enjoyed this concert very much. I certainly be interested in hearing their Schumann, JLW.
