An excellent programme - more 'Discovering Music' than what was modestly described as 'scraping the surface'. A whole range of performance styles was presented, all dedicated to the best possible rendition of this glorious music. What I found as uplifting as the music was the love, not for the first time, that Catherine Bott brings to music such as this. Programme of the month for me.

I quite agree, Patrick. This programme has certainly become one of the highlights of the week for me on R3, always well researched and presented very engagingly, whatever the subject.
