Neil Gaiman's Neverwhere rerun on R4

If you are quick, you can still catch Episode 1 of the rerun of this very fine radio version by Dirk Maggs via the iPlayer. The first episode is just under a hour long, but the other five last around half an hour each. Cameo roles for Neil Gaiman, by the way, in addition to something of a star cast.

The original television series was my introduction to Gaiman's work. That led me onto the developed book version, once published, and I then ordered the DVDs from over The Pond (they appeared not be available in the UK at the time). The radio version leaves the television 'draft' standing, though the latter did have some very fine performances, especially Hywel Bennett and Clive Russell as Messrs.Coup and Vandemar, and, of course, Peter Capaldi as The Angel, Islington.
