Yes - watched the first one, v impressed with the gritty 'steam-punk' look and feel and sound of it, looking forward to Ep. 2 nestling on the hard drive under the telly. Could be a bit of a classic.

Plus I'd watch Sam Neill read the telephone directory, magnificent screen actor.

For a brief shining period, I used to see Cillian Murphy jogging around Queen's Park, London NW6.

He was lovely in Neil Jordan's film of Patrick McCabe's Breakfast On Pluto too

Because it's a six part series and has to be available until a week after the last episode.
I didn't watch it, somehow the trailers didn't appeal and I think I was out anyway. However we don't get Episode 2 until this evening in Wales - there was a special report on something, next week it goes back to Thursdays - so if I decide to give it a go I'd best watch Episode 1 on iplayer before 9pm tonight or I'll get further behind ..... but I hope it's not full of gratuitous violence? It has had very good (4*) write ups in all the papers as well.

No, the Proms is not a series because each Prom has an entirely different subject matter, whereas Pesky Blighters is a continuing story. The only Proms that could be a series would be one of Wagner's operas (or any other lengthy work) split over different broadcast dates over some weeks (at least that's my theory)

Are you not confusing "series" with "serial", Anna ? The former has a looser structure ( like the Proms [it used to have a connecting theme; "classical music"]) whereas the latter requires a continuing, developing storyline.
