Well, I didn't watch the first instalment of "Run" and from this review I'm glad I didn't depress myself. Grim does indeed seem to be the word for it:-
Another week, another breakout performance from Olivia Colman. That chirpy face and sprite smile encourages a nation of fans to follow her into all manner of beastly nooks and dread crannies in the hope that somehow with Colman for company it’ll be all right. Increasingly, it isn’t. After Tyrannosaur (murders husband) and Accused (son murdered) and Broadchurch (investigates child murder), we have Run (sons murder).
(Probably still more fun than "Vicious" though....)Patriotism is supporting your country all the time, and your government when it deserves it.

I took the advice of the reviews and did not watch it because of Violence and depressing Reality....
Top of the Lake may have more legs, enjoyed the first episode. I dare say it will end up as being offbeat predictable....but as with The Returned , stunning scenery and good actors....http://www.bbc.co.uk/iplayer/episode...Paradise_Sold/bong ching

As for Run I lasted just under 10 minutes, once the violence started I switched off (probably my loss as The Telegraph gave it a 5* review but I really didn't want to watch anymore)

Pee 'n' Am is a classic combo (my favourite soup!) and it's been a while since we've had a little ding-dong
On topic - "Run" didn't tempt...
...(& off topic, nor did the "Lake" programme - especially since I swore solemnly to avoid the Campion oeuvre after "The Piano" provided my worst 2 hours in a cinema ever.
