    SPOILER ALERT

Hmm. Saltum seemed a more interesting figure in the first two series, I thought: the way he was characterized in the pigs episode didn't match the more "savvy" political character established before.

And why didn't the Prime Minister simply say on public television "These practices were happening all the time you were Prime Minister. If they're as important as you now claim, why didn't you do anything about them when you were in power?"

The subtle, insinuous political machinations of the first series seem to have been ditched in favour of Soap Opera, which I find disappointing. Still - that smile!

Agreed, and a lot has to do with the poor use of Kasper who in the first series was a complicated Machiavellian figure yet now seems to have been relegated to the part of one half of a custody battle - completely wasted imv. And some of the English dialogue in the scenes with the architect has me longing for the return of subtitled Danish

It does capture the utter self-absorption of the political and media characters in their own world, as if almost unable to comprehend how people outside this world could not be wholly fascinated in it.

So long as they don't affect Danish accents, like the atrocious French in the Mitterand biog recently on R4.

Have really enjoyed this , probably just as well to stop now before the rot sets in ( what's it called? shark something?). The "taking TV1 down-market" theme was interesting. One might have some hope for the future if there was an inkling that the purveyors of our happy-clappy music shows were kicking against the pricks, standing up for what we believe in as opposed to being the jobsworths they have become.

Yes, well-managed final double header. Just a bit soapy tieing things up, but decent. Intriguing that a sort of political soap can be gripping over a series of Saturdays. Looking forward too The Bridge already.

                  - "and they all lived realistically happily ever after." I thought this series picked up in week three (episodes 5 & 6) from a comparitively weak start. And I'm so glad that the "Soap Opera" aspect didn't extend to the Cancer story.

                  - I hope that the telly bosses realize that an extended drama series does not have to open with a scantily-clad young woman running desperately through a forest at night in order to get high viewing figures.

This kept me gripped to the end - though I agree, it got better, the final 3 or 4 being the best

PS: Only just twigged that 'Katrine' is treading the boards in London playing Coriolanus's wife at the Donmar... http://www.theguardian.com/stage/201...n-power-player

Alas it's sold out till February

and congratulations too for the absolute absence of naked flesh in the medical and sex scenes, all the more realistic and attractive for the decorum

the press and tv execs ala pepsicolaman and creativespiritsnowball was well and truly pilloried i thought

Nearly fell off the sofa just now, flicking on the telly and around the BBC channels, to see the intro to a Eurovision 'heats' programme (on now) being presented by... Kasper Juul... aka actor Pilou Asbæk

He was singing last night! Think he should stick to the day job...

Mrs. PG will be very excited re. this - she's a big fan.
